This comprehensive curriculum spans from Medieval/Renaissance times to jazz and contemporary popular music, providing learners with a deep understanding of significant developments, influential composers, and the cultural contexts that shaped music across centuries. Participants will not only gain knowledge of musical evolution and its pivotal moments but also develop critical listening skills, enabling them to identify stylistic characteristics across different genres. By the end of this course, they will be equipped with both theoretical insights and practical examples of how music reflects and influences societal changes, ensuring a well-rounded perspective on the art of music. For everyone from novices to seasoned musicians, this course will enrich students' understanding and inspire a deeper connection to music. The high school course features the same thirteen teaching videos as the middle school course along with links to top-notch performances, review games, and quizzes. But the program for high schoolers also includes insightful supplemental resources and instructional materials, suggested assignments, and a final exam, totaling more than 60 hours of learning altogether.
